The mountain provides hiking and skiing opportunities for the city's residents and can be a welcome break from the summer heat.
Irrespective of the season, a visit to Vitosha Mountain is always a delightful experience. During the warmer months you may take strolls away from the hustle and bustle of the city (yet only 30 minutes away). During the winter season, skiing is a popular activity if there is snow. There are some nice restaurants up in the mountain.
